The WHAM Project is designed to provide young people with an opportunity to show that they can make a valuable contribution to their local community by making it a cleaner, safer and more caring place to be and live, whilst at the same time improving their standing within the local community. Teams of up to four youngsters are encouraged to undertake projects of their own choosing using their imagination and creative energies to the full. Projects so far have been environmental, tidying up an area previously neglected, starting a recycling scheme, peer education tackling issues such as bullying, drugs and other important issues affecting young people, helping those less fortunate in the community and crime prevention schemes. These projects demonstrate that the possibilities are limited only by each team’s imagination.
Marsh Ltd have supported the WHAM project for many years and we are profoundly grateful to them. Mrs Carol Plunkett, Community Relations Officer, of Marsh feels that, as a major employer in Norfolk, Marsh are keen to work with partnerships to promote community involvement. They are glad to be able to offer support to the excellent work of Norfolk PACT.
