Although overall levels of crime in Norfolk continue to fall and detection rates have increased, domestic violence at any level should not be tolerated. Norfolk is recognised as one of the safest Counties in the Country, but domestic violence is still a key issue for all the organisations and agencies involved to both stop it happening and also to help victims. Norfolk PACT – Partners Against Crime Taskforce, who celebrated their tenth anniversary last year, continue to campaign and support initiatives to help victims and potential victims. To assist in this, Norfolk PACT in conjunction with sponsorship from Fosters solicitors in Norwich have just relaunched the very helpful Domestic Violence Survival card. Andrea Spooner of Fosters solicitors said “ We are delighted to be involved with Norfolk PACT and in particular the Domestic Violence help card . It provides some really useful contacts for both support workers involved in domestic violence issues and victims.” Paddy Seligman one of Norfolk PACT’s Trustees said ,“ Fosters have been very supportive and we are grateful to them for their sponsorship of this Domestic Violence project ”. Domestic violence involves a range of abusive and violent behaviour , where a person exerts control over another person. It is the emotional, physical sexual , phychological or financial abuse of a person by their partner ,family member or someone with whom there is or has been a relationship.
